When you decide to buy a computer, the choices can be difficult.
Here are some things to consider:
  • What are you going to use your computer for?
    • Just for email
    • Games
    • Pictures and video
  • Do I want a PC or Laptop?

All these things matter. If you just want email, then a basic computer will do.

However, if you are a game player or store lots of pictures, you will want to upgrade to a more powerful computer.

**Rule of thumb:

Buy the most memory and speed, your pocket book will allow.

You might consider having your computer built. It is less expensive,

and you can eliminate the "junk", demo programs, games you do not want, etc.

Here in Orange County, California, I would recommend the PC Club.

There are several locations. They will ask you what you are using your computer for, and build  to your specs.

Other companies are:

Dell and MicroCenter.

There are several places you can go for computer training.

  • Community Colleges
  • Adult Schools
  • Business Schools

  • The colleges are good, however, by the time you add on parking, health and books, etc. they can get pricey.
  • Adult schools are inexpensive and very good. Tustin Adult School is only $35.00 per semester. Once a week three hour classes. You can sign-up by calling (714)730-7395
  • Business schools are more money, however, one-day classes are a plus. Aim Training Solutions located in Irvine is an excellant choice. Call them toll free at (888)221-0305.
